The Field

April 6, 2013--You can see by the position of the pole in the first two pictures that  they are taken from a different perspective than the rest. It took me a while to figure out a consistent place to stand for the pictures.

April 10, 2013--This picture was taken only four days after the last one, but I didn't want to miss the dramatic change.  It looks more like a lake than a field. I took it from the car because it was raining.

April 20, 2012--The flood has gone down, but there's been more rain and the field is sodden. Part of the time since the last picture was taken, the road was closed between here and my house because the road through the swamp was under water. You can see the tracks where people have been riding dirt bikes through the field.

May 25, 2013--Not sure what happened to all that green. It's been a month since I took the picture, so I can't remember if any work was done there, but it doesn't look like it. 

June 1, 2013--Finally the field is plowed!

June 8, 2013--Tiny seedlings appearing

June 15, 2013--Something is definitely coming up now.

June 22, 2013--Day after the first day of summer. The plants are getting a little bigger everyday. From the east (we are looking south) the field looks completely green. I don't know what it is. I suspect soy beans, but we shall see.

June 29, 2013--Greener still.
